after thanksgiving we headed up to the mountains for the long weekend. our family cabin makes for the perfect little getaway – far enough to feel like a break, but a relatively short drive there and back. so did I take the long weekend to work on wedding thank you’s? – nope. did I work on shop inventory to get that baby up and running? – nope. did I journal the entire time, drink wine, watch movies on vhs, play n64 mario kart & watch lola enjoy her very first trip up to the cabin? – you bet.
while I don’t think our pug monster was a big fan of the cold weather (or the tiny patch of snow we chucked her into), she did seem to enjoy the outdoors and a new space to roam in. I think more than anything – she loved the undivided attention from my husband and I the entire weekend.
while I acclimate myself back to normal life, I will say I’ve got some great posts lined up over the next few weeks. new journal spreads, a fresh make it monday, finally wrapping up our wedding, and a long overdue iceland post. I may or may not even have a gift guide this year. coming from someone who hates the holidays – I would call that an accomplishment.
hope you all had a wonderful & relaxing holiday weekend…I know I did.
+ also! a special shout out to dana over at caviar dreams for featuring my shop in her gift guide! thanks for the love & be sure to check out her blog.
