this weekend is sure to be a busy, but creative one. I’ll be focusing the majority of my time working on a new online class (eek, more info coming soon!).

it’s been a bit since my last friday finds post, so I thought I might put one up today. these aren’t all new per se, but certainly some things I’ve recently loved or have bookmarked…

it feels like summer is in full swing huh? in los angeles it’s nothing but hot sunny days, busy farmers markets, walks around echo park lake, oh…and pokemon go (admit it, you’re playing too!).

as you may have seen on my social media (or in my sidebar…*wink! –>), I’ve been working hard to finalize my new online art journal class LYRICAL. while I don’t want to confirm the launch date quite yet, I will reveal that I aim to get the class live no later than august 1st. don’t hold me to that of course, but I’m bustin’ my butt to get it out there! I will also admit: it’s by far one of my favorite online classes I’ve ever created…

in between editing LYRICAL, I’ll be working hard on my COSTUME FOR COMIC CON (you guys know I love a good costume)! yaaasss – comic con is next week, and I’m stoked that I’ll be there for the entire weekend. I’ve been filming a little behind the scenes of my costume construction which I hope to edit together for youtube, but be sure to follow me on snapchat – which is where I’ll be sharing a lot of my progress (snapchat username: bybunrox).

alright…let’s get to some friday finds shall we?

whew! I haven’t done in a friday finds post in what feels like forever! sometimes it’s tough for me to blog on fridays because I’m typically prepping to teach a weekend class or because I’m traveling. it’s nice to see a somewhat calm weekend ahead of me. aside from editing more youtube videos, I’m going to allow myself time to simply create. in the chaos of running this little creative business of mine, I’ve realize how important carving out that time can really be.

here’s a look at this week’s finds…

obsessed with these ‘reverse’ portraits from artist Alejandra Atarés

an inspiring video on a rebel ballerina who took over an old opera house in death valley

woah…the photographs from ugo rondinone’s ‘seven magic mountains‘ piece are incredible

just two weeks to go, and then my summer begins. I get so pumped just looking at my to do list. tons of art making, teaching, a trip or two, preparing for student teaching in fall, kicking off a big personal project (that I can’t wait to share with you), and re-organizing my entire house (literally, in a few weeks I’m swapping my studio with our master bedroom). but of course, this is all pending I get through the next 14 days…

so hypnotized by this work by il lee…in ballpoint pen!

quote of the week

darling little flower ladies

I’m doubling down on friday finds (so to speak), since I missed last week’s post. the fact that I’m even managing to post one or two times a week is already pretty impressive compared to last semester’s blogging dry spell.

before I start rambling about whatever I usually ramble about on fridays, I wanted to first say a big thank-you for those who have watched, commented on, or emailed me regarding my 21 Secrets Conversation interview. that was my first video interview experience, which as you can imagine – was quite nerve wracking! I was especially embarrassed after tearing up mid-interview. but, getting such positive feedback the past few days has been really wonderful! it’s especially nice hearing from many ‘quiet’ readers of the blog. so THANK-YOU!

man, I’m such a sucker for zines

how gorgeous are these photos from a vsco user?

OBSESSED with this diy lap desk (and I’m seriously in need of one these days!)

so inspired by these block printed textiles

quote of the week.

giant pink dots for your desktop

32 paintings paired with quotes from mean girls (so hilarious)

such a fun illustration…armadillos on a trampoline

a great guide to gold paint

this weekend is of course, me playing catch up. it’s a perpetual and vicious cycle this semester. one minute I’m feeling great about my progress, the next I’m insanely overwhelmed with what I haven’t even started. the holiday weekend should certainly help putting a dent into my work load anxiety.

in other news, I’ll be FINALLY packing up postcards to put up in my online shop next week. I’ll be sharing ALL of the juicy details next week on the blog…so stay tuned here for what’s included in each set, price, and where to snag yours.

happy (valentines) weekend…xo

this past week was really about slowly dipping my toes into spring semester. getting my textbooks, attending orientations, info meetings…just getting things into gear. I’ll admit I’m excited to start, but terrified of what’s ahead. I’ve read and heard nothing but really gnarly things about the coursework I’ve got in store over the next few months. just have to take things one day at a time I guess…

reading this post had me missing iceland like crazy

so stoked for wes anderson and his 9 oscar nominations! needless to say, we’ll be having a very anderson oscar watch party this year…

someone buy me this t-shirt

my alma mater receives the most applications than any other college in the u.s.!

the best ball boys in the world – this video is so darling…

how to throw a tortured artist dinner party (love this idea)

this weekend I’ll be hosting a small creative gathering with some classmates. it’s a great way to really soak in these last few days before the chaos ensues.

happy weekend…xo

what! I’m actually blogging?! with my semester finally winding down, and my most gnarly projects behind me, I can start to tackle my winter break to do list. one item of which, is this little ol’ blog. I miss blogging and rambling to (what few) readers I have. so, expect some fresh stuff around here – at least until I get swamped again…

it’s crazy to think that I’ve completed the first of three semesters in my credential program. while the past three months or so have flown by, I can’t quite say the same for 2014 as a whole. I think all that waiting and planning to quit my job just made the year drag a bit. I’m looking forward to posting and updating you all on just what the hell I’ve been doing. in the meantime, here’s some finds for ya…

this quote has been my mantra for the semester

lessons from grimes on how to be a boss (I just love her!!)

ok, someone buy me this dress

loving the illustrations from stasis burrington

how to read tarot cards (and I actually own & love the deck from wild unknown)

great interview with jen gotch (the co-founder of ban.do)

have a wonderful weekend folks. xo.
