I just wanted to pop by here to remind you that my new online class SPIRITS arrives tomorrow morning in my Etsy shop at 8:00am pst! as I mentioned in the announcement post, I’ve got that ‘spirit pack’ giveaway for the first 20 students who enroll in the class…
The first 20 students to enroll in the Spirits class will receive a free ‘Spirit pack’ via snail mail. This includes a hand painted trading card from the artist (featuring a ‘spirit’), a die-cut sticker, fun packing tape bits designed by Roxanne, and a mini art print! (while supplies last, limited to the first 20 students only)
with the launch of SPIRITS, there will also be more online class bundle options available. these new bundle combos will also reflect that lower early bird rate for Spirits! basically, buy a bundle this week during the launch of Spirits to save more moolah and snag another one of my classes (like Creatures or Lyrical, or both!).
I’m so absolutely thrilled about this new class, and cannot wait to share it with you all. hopefully I’ll be ‘seeing you’ in class tomorrow!
no april fools happening here – I’ve finally put together a legit artsnacks unboxing video! hop on over to my youtube channel to watch me open up the box and create a journal spread with the supplies…
enjoy, and happy weekend! xo
happy monday! I just wanted to let you know that if you’re in so cal, I’ll be teaching two in-person workshops this weekend in the south bay. these classes are being held at a private residence located in el segundo this saturday & sunday. here’s a look at the line up:
saturday, march 25th – 10am-4pm
Art journaling meets illustration in this mixed media workshop “Cacti”. This class takes you through the process of creating a two-page art journal spread that uses succulents and cacti as a visual focal point. Through guided step-by-step instruction, you will build up a mixed media foundation layer using ephemera and acrylic paint. With a foundation layer complete, the class then further explores: planning a composition, the use of a split-complimentary color palette, observational drawing, and unique illustration techniques using both acrylic paint, ink, and/or watercolor.
“MINI ART JOURNALS”
sunday, march 26th – 10am-3pm
This art journaling class takes you through the process of creating a miniature, two-inch, mixed media art journal. Through step-by-step instruction, we will begin by binding and constructing our mini journals by hand. Once our mini journals are assembled, the class will then take you through a variety of individual techniques, prompts, and illustrations to apply within each 2-page spread! At the completion of the class you’ll have a fully altered mini journal featuring eight different miniature art spreads…
space is limited, but there’s still a few open seats! I would love for you to join me. shoot me an email to scope out the supply list and get more info: email@example.com
+ not local or cannot attend in person? join me online! I’ve got two online classes that you can join at any time and do at your own pace: ‘Creatures‘ & ‘Lyrical‘. and yes, the rumors are true…I have a new one in the works 😉 stay tuned!
as promised, I’m bringing you some photos and a video tour of mini journal #9! hop on over here to watch the video…
+ reminder: this fully altered mini journal, along with 3 others, will be available for purchase in my etsy shop TOMORROW MORNING @ 9am PST!

make it artsy episode 10 is now available online to view! it’s up to watch for free until december 23rd…
I’ll admit that this episode features my favorite segment that I did for the show: mini matchbook journals. they are super easy to make, easy to carry or throw into a pen bag, and easy to obsess over (haha!). I’ve made several since the taping of the show, and love working in them.
hop on over here to watch the full episode and learn how to make one!
+ psst! looking for more stuff to binge watch? don’t forget that I’m posting daily videos on my youtube channel for the entire month of december…
