***Also to note – due to the technical difficulties during the stream we unfortunately did not have a complete video to leave up on YouTube! it was missing the entire back half, and was broken up into weird clips. it wouldn’t have made any sense had we left it up…sorry guys! xo
happy sunday everyone! I’m here to chat about all-things-ArtSnacks…which as some of you may know, is one of my favorite things ever…
if you’re unfamiliar with ArtSnacks, it’s a monthly subscription box – where each month you get little mystery box in the mail full of art supplies! I’ve been a subscriber to their monthly boxes for quite a while now. every month since signing up I truly enjoy getting the box, being surprised, discovering (and being challenged by) new supplies, and even creating unboxing videos on YouTube.
I had hinted here and there on my vlog about a secret project. well now I can say – that secret is that I have started to collaborate with ArtSnacks to create videos for their YouTube channel! you guys have no idea how thrilled I am about this. to be an artist working with a company that I genuinely love and have been a customer of for so long, is freakin’ exciting!!
as you might have seen at the end of June I created the first video called the Box Breakdown. the idea of the breakdown is that it gives you an in-depth look at the supplies and techniques found in the latest ArtSnacks box. think of it like an unboxing video on steroids (haha). you not only see what’s in the box, but you learn how to use it! I’m stoked to say that I’ll now be creating a ‘Box Breakdown’ for them every month, and you can catch the latest one for the July box here.
again, I can’t express enough how happy I am about this collaboration. these guys are the freakin’ best (and watch this video about the co-founders if you haven’t already, it’s one of my favs on their channel). I also want to give an extra special shout out to those of you who have left such wonderful comments on the videos already – thank-you!!
you can subscribe to the ArtSnacks YouTube channel, but also know that I’ll be putting a post here every time a new ‘breakdown’ video is up. that way you’ll stay totally up to date… 😉
PSSST!!-> if you’re new to ArtSnacks, I’ve got a discount code for ya! use the code BYBUN10 at checkout to get 10% off your first month’s box!
I just wanted to jump onto the blog real quick to remind you that we’ll be recording episode #13 of the Pug Party Podcast LIVE TONIGHT ON YOUTUBE! the live stream kicks off at AT 5pm PST over on my YouTube channel. so grab a drink, come hang out with us (and the pugs), and watch as we potentially make real fools of ourselves…
It’s a 4th of July bonanza, as we discuss bad creative habits, share a nerd sprinkle we’re both hyped about, and attempt round two of slang words you should know in 2017.
***As we mention in the episode, don’t forget to join us this weekend as we record our next one LIVE ON YOUTUBE! This Saturday, July 8th @ 5pm PST, grab a drink, and tune in. Be sure to subscribe to the By Bun YouTube channel to be notified when we go live!***
well, I’m cutting it close posting this playlist on the last day of the month eh? but that’s not stopping me…come at me June! COME. AT. ME.
there’s pretty much just two words I have for this playlist, and that is: Washed. Out. yes, my all-time favorite band ever Washed Out has finally put out a new album (and you’ll find two tracks from it on this month’s line up).
if you’re new to Washed Out, allow me to be your welcome wagon. this band is the best. their music is chill. it’s upbeat. it’s great background music and it’s great party music. it’s soulful for art making, but cool enough to jam to while you’re cooking up a sweet vegan dish for you and your honey. you catch my drift…I love f*cking this band…
+ need more tunes? be sure to follow me on spotify so you can stay up to date on what I’m jamming to, including these monthly playlists! you can also check out last month’s playlist here.
it is no secret I’ve fallen in love with making zines lately. I’m finding it to be an incredible (and somewhat therapeutic) way to express myself using both illustration and text – which as you know is a rarity in my usual body of work…
I’ve recently completed a second mini zine titled Things I’ve Buried. this second issue tells the tale of things I’ve buried both physically and emotionally throughout my life. you can take a video tour of this zine over on my youtube channel…
