we love going to big bear any chance we can get (and puff’s birthday was the perfect reason to go…). this marks the second year in a row we’ve gone up for his birthday- might just be a tradition at this point.
while we managed to do our usual favorites- walk around the village, drink at Chad’s and pick up the best sandwiches (ever of all time) from ‘Mountain Munchies’- I unfortunately had to spend the majority of Saturday doing school work (not to mention, we didn’t leave LA till about 10:30pm on Friday for the same reason). I’m incredibly grateful of how patient James is regarding my grad school efforts (like I have said before- I swear he’s getting his MFA too).
thankfully- I managed to get a little bit ahead to have Sunday free from school to enjoy his birthday (not an easy task, but of course well worth it!). we spent the entire day laying lakeside in the sun at the Big Bear Jazzfest. you can bet we’re already counting down the days until our next trip up…

I think the black “veil” of netting adds such an interesting touch to the cabin facade..lol..but it’s doing the job..I don’t see any wood peckers posted up on the wood siding! xo
